Man,
What a busy week and weekend!
First off, there was the big 2009 SEMA Show, out in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As usual, the show was a blast!
Tons of beautiful cars, and beautiful models (girls).
I usually try to get photos with them all as I usually do, but this year I didn't.
But don't worry, I did get some.
Got alot of car photos, and I'll post up the non-Firebird ones here.
To me, the show was smaller this year, as alot of businesses didn't show.
The one lobby had a lot of companies from China this year, and you normally see these companies at the APEX show (which is at another convention during the SEMA show, and you are able to go to both).
The magazine companies where there, however, they brought no magazines!
So much for me not buying all the car mags this month, as I use to pick them up at the show.
I wanted to get extras of the HPP magazine, as my name was mentioned.
No luck.
I saw a few Birds, and a GTO, met some old friends from Socal, and a few from where I now live (even though I see them every week or so, it's still fun to go somewhere far away, and see someone you know).
Alot of celebs were not there this year, and alot were.
I only met a few this year, and some I talked to for over an hour.
It was fun, but I, and Lisa, got very tired, from all the walking we did.
We also did some shopping while out there, and got some cool stuff for our collections.
On the Press side, it was a big bummer that no more backpacks were give out this year (good thing I brought one from last year, it would have been very hard to carry all the stuff without it).
Also, there were no sodas, and no meals.
Donuts were brought out, very early, and no more other than a large plate of them, as if they would last part of the day.
First day, nothing, second day, we got one donut each.
However, I will go again next year, and after that as well. ;D
So, what did I see?
A ton of cool stuff for sure!
I'll start out slow, showing a few photos of cars that I liked.
Lately, I am leaning towards Dodge, as I like the Charger, Daytona, and the Challenger alot.
Figues that Fiat (who owns Dodge) just said they are going to close down Dodge.
Seems Dodge will be like Pontiac now.
Mustangs just don't do it for me, although I think they are OK cars.
The Camaro does nothing for me at all, so I didn't even bother getting any photos of them, sorry.
You can thank Putz for that, since he was/is against bringing out a Firebird/Trans Am.
No way will I do anything to further his cars.
But that's not to say that I don't like the Camaro-based new 5th gen Birds, as I do.
Alot.
I will post them on other treads on this site.
Anyway, here are some photos I took.
Too bad this car is no more.
It is a fav to mod.
Notice the new craze in modding.
Yep, the clear window in the hood.
We saw about 5 cars with it.
I think it's stupid myself.
Plastic doesn't do good in the desert, besides, if it gets dirty, and cars do, it will scratch bad.
But for show cars, I guess it's OK.
Since most cars now-a-days don't even show you the engine, with all that plastic covering them.
Here's tribue to Ed "Big Daddy" Roth (who I use to know, as I went to school with his kids, and still know them to this day).
I'll show more later, as I want to post in other sections here, and I don't have all day for the computer.
Hope you enjoy,
George
