As some of you know, I have quite a few cars. One of them, is my very first Trans Am. A 1974 Trans Am with the 455 engine/auto combo. Unfortunately, it has a broken mount for the front lower A arm. Back in Los Angeles, the welding shops said they wouldn't touch it. So, I bought another subframe off another 1974 455 Trans Am in a just yard. Never paid attention to it, juct took it off, and stored it at my house. I never had room to tear apart the car to fix it. So, I brought everything out here to Kingman, AZ. Took the car apart, and was getting ready to swap over the subframes. Then, a friend came over (when he owned his 1974 455 Trans Am-pretty much a carbon copy of my two-yes two, but I gave one to my girlfriend) who does welding, and said I should just weld it. When we went over to the other subframe, he said that that one was repaired too. I looked, and sure enough, the new one I pulled off at the junk yard, was welded up in the same place! So, now I am waiting for my friend to come over and weld things up. He will do it in his spare time. I told him I was in no rush, as it's been down for awhile now. Anyway, here are some photos of the damage. ![](http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l81/WarbirdTA/WarbirdTA2/S6301233.jpg) The bracket broke right in the middle, right through the bold hole on one side. Here's a close-up of the damage. ![](http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l81/WarbirdTA/WarbirdTA2/S6301234.jpg) I'll wait till it's fixed, then offer up for sale the other 1974 Trans Am subframe.
