As requested, more pics of my '74Yes, she has a landau top with porthole windows. Car was supposed to go over to Japan, but the original owner talked the dealership out of sending it over there. He wanted a TA with the 455 engine.

The only real bad thing about the hot high desert. It kills paint real fast! Both cars need new paint. A few of mine do too now. George

Thanks for the pics!
They look to be in really good shape!
How many '74's came with the landau roof top?

I actually saw one while I was driving my '74 in L.A. and I thought George was driving my car, but then I realized, uh - I'm driving my car. Naturally, I was across the street and couldn't get across fast enough to follow it to see where it went or lived. So one other one that I know of.

Half like that? None that I know of. This car was going to go over to Japan, and the original owner (I was the second owner) found it in the back lot at the one local Pontiac dealership. See, at this time, Pontiac dropped the 455 engine in the '74 Trans Ams. The original owner wanted a 455 engine, and all the dealership cars were all with the 400 engine. He walked into the back lot, and found this car, which was going to leave soon. Since he knew the owner of the dealership, he struck a deal, and got the car. See, cars going over to Japan at this time, were required to have some mods. One, was an "extra" side window in the car, since it was a blind spot. So, the dealership sent the car out to be converted with the "opera windows" and the half vinyl padded top. It was so popular in SoCal, that quite a few cars were converted that way. The customizer Eddy Paul use to do them too, on Firebirds. Out here in the desert, the top has dried out, and needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, the local upholstery shop burned down. So, we have to wait for awhile to get it fixed. That, and build another addon to the garage. George

That is a good looking car! It's the right color too! Both Firebirds that I have owned were white. I did try my hardest to find a black one but I always gravitate to the white ones. Go figure?

Ha! I want a red car, but I too, always seem to get white cars. The only black car I have, I had to buy new. Here is a photo of her car when I had her stock. George
