Some weirdo and his dad got a picture and names mentioned in the August 2008 issue of HPP. Page 60. With a third and second place showing. Good Job.

George, Good to hear your beast is back in order. Can't wait to drive back from OK City in the fall.

Well Simo, It did take a big bit of money. Remember I said that the gas guage didn't work? Well, seems the last guy that did the work (Paul's Automotive in Torrance, across from the Home Depot at Torrance Crossroads), not only cut off my exhaust, but broke the fuel neck of the gas tank, and broke the electric lead that sits above the fuel pump (which the leads sit in the gas as well). So, not only no working gas guage, but intermittened electrial power to the fuel pump. Thank God no spark, or a possible Ka-boom could have taken place. Gee, I found this out after driving the car around for over 5 years! Good thing I don't drive the car much! So again, my $400.00 job cost me almost an even grand! I had to get a new sending unit for the gas tank, the whole assembly! Retail is over $700.00! And I only use AC-Delco. Got a good deal on it ($405.00), and I had to borrow money to buy it. Today, I got a check for that amount (sold some stuff from my catalog), so that money goes to pay off my friend! I did buy some other AC-Delco/GM parts as well (this is why I ended up borrowing money from my friend), but I bought all this before I found out about the gas sending unit. And I got the car back last night. Today was to be a car show local. What happened this morning? Rain! The show was cancelled. Well, at least the car runs good (and really fast now too ;D ). Oh, and now I have superseded part numbers for the 20th TTA if you need (hopefully no one else has to do this). George

George, Well that really sucks. A shop that didn't have a clue. Tar & Feather the bums. At least it's running strong. Glad no fire(s) happened. Just goes to show us all to review the work that is done on your pride and joy(s).

Thanks guys. The trick is to be the only 4th gens there. ;D It was a rain date on a holiday weekend, lol. The car that won was a heavily modded (H/C upholstry, etc) 02 T/A formerly owned by Sal Zaino. (The wax guy). Yes that was in the stock class too The show is only about 25 miles away so we always go to that one. George I'm glad to hear your 89 is back online. ;D I know you had mentioned it was giving you a bit of trouble.
