Egads! What a bummer! What are your plans for it now? You can still use it as a driver. George

Sell or part it.
Whoever did the work did a nice job on it. It's not hacked.
I just won't put any money into it now. I'll be looking for another.

Was the guy you bought it off, the first owner? I would sue if he was. If not, I would sell it over parting it out. I think you could get more money that way (although I don't know what you paid for it ). You know, now that I think about it, that would make a super race car, with no one giving you crap about cutting up a rare GTA. ;D Got any 455 engines lying around? ;D George

Holy smokes! d**n Alex, that sucks. Although if you threw in a full cage and some SFC's... (Any more pics of the carnage? I am curious how something like that goes together...)

The car was sold to a local third gen enthusiast who needed a parts car.
I got all of my money back out of it and he got the perfect parts car. It worked out pretty good.

No garage and I'd be paranoid about leaving it outside. Maybe in the distant future. That is why I don't like buying well preserved cars. At least I can screw up and reapir a restored one without having a heart attack. You should have seen how paranoid I was with my '02 and my last DT500. I'd love to buy a second gen.

Ha! You, paranoid? How about me? I never park the 20th TTA outside. I get just as bad when I let Lisa drive it. I know what you mean though. I pulled off my JW coded 1970 wheels off my 1970 Trans Am, just because it sits outside. As well as my Ram Air IV intake, heads, and complete airbox! Those parts alone, are around 8 grand, just sitting there, waiting for someone to remove just a few bolts. At least here in this state, I can protect me and my stuff. The bad guy faces me with a screwdriver, or wrench, I scare easy. ;D Ha! George
