here are some photos of my 1979 403 Olds powered ragtop Trans Am. I like it, and that's why I bought it. Living out in SoCal, by the beach, it was a blast driving it around all the time. Since I have it out here, I need to redo the tranny. It still fires up, and I start it every two weeks or so. May be alittle too hot out here during the summer, and too cold during the winter, but I intend to keep her! ;D With the top down: With the top up (and my 1981 heavy modded 1981 Turbo Trans Am) : This is the build number: Hope you like, George

Cool car George. Nocturne blue? That's the color I'm going to paint mine.

Yep, That's the color. ;D The car did have the baby blue interior, but it was shot. I bought a wreaked Trans Am, just to get the interior, and changed it over to black interior. George

I bet it would take more that a 12 pak and a weekend to hear all your stories.

You know what's sad? They opened Van Nuys Blvd. to car cruising again! And here I live out here now. Maybe that's a good thing. I came real close every week, getting a ticket or arrested. If I went now, I probably would. ;D Now, hurry up and move out here, I would love for you to bring a 12 pack, so I could share my stories (12 pack would just be for the Van Nuys stories-all the other stories would require more beer! ;D ). George

Great looking cars George! I really need to get of my duff and start doing something with mine. If I can stop spending money on diecast would help but finding diecast is alot easier than trying to find parts for a 71 Firebird. it seems all the catalogs skip 70-73 Firebirds all together. I might save up and get another 2nd gen Firebird like 77-81. Hopefully in better shape than my 71. Who did the rag top conversion on the Bird? They did a real good job.

Thanks Paul, It was done by a Convertible Company called NCE Conversions. They did about 200 car a year, since around 1978 or so. Up to 1981. I have seen a couple others in person, and almost bought a few more, but my collection has stayed the same now for a few years. What does your car need? I may have parts for it, or know someone who does, and I may be able to help you track down what you need. Let me know, George

Not that I know of, But, they did sell plans for them, and the ads were in the back of alot of the car magazines back in the early 80s. I wish I had tried to buy them. Someone may have them. George
