Wow!
What a show this year!
Not many Firebirds, only saw 2 of them.
This year, I didn't even get anywhere near as much to see, as all the other years!
Standing in line for autographs took hours for some people, as in years before, just about a half hour!
On top of that, some only signed for about an hour, while there were people signing at the same time, in totally different buildings!
No way to get them all.
Heck, some people didn't even show to sign autographs.
But I did good, and got quite a few.
I didn't see Linda Vaughn this year, and no one seemed to know anything about if she would show up anywhere, to sign.
I also didn't see Jay Leno, which I have seen pretty much every year there.
Saw some very beautiful cars this year, and took a ton of photos!
Met some even better people (yes, girls too! ), and I did get some really great autographs from them.
And for those who really know me, I can talk.
And did I ever this year!
Lines for autographs were put on hold, while I chatted with some of the celebraties.
Some signing and talking with me, even said tough on the people standing in line waiting for their autograph (Gotta love AJ Oh wait, I do! She's such a doll! ).
I'll be posting up some photos for you all to see, so let me know what you think of some of this stuff.
I also missed almost all the auto press conferences, but I did make Ford, only to see that they had no Press Kits, only a small cut paper with an web address to go to.
No Ford Performance Motorsports Catalogs either.
In fact, the big Press conference they had, was for the Ford Flex, with Japanese guys talking about it.
Makes you wonder who owns Ford now.
GM did have the Performance Catalog this year (they usually run out), and it's big and thick this year, with all the new LSX stuff in it.
Again, I missed out on Press Kits from them.
Saw a few Camaros (they don't do a thing for me at all, sorry).
The big thing I noticed, was all the Challengers!
They were everywhere!
And all hot looking with all the mods!
In fact, there is a company in SoCal, called NCE (Sound familiar? But they are not the same company as the second gen conversions) that does ragtop conversions on them, along with 300s and Chargers!
They just look super!
The Hurst Edition was a killer knockout as well!
That car was just awesome to loom at!
White, with gold racing stripes!
I got the small (so small, it was just a special memory stick with the Hurst emblem on it) Press Kit on that one!
Even the magazine publishers were out, but not as much free magazines this year.
I when everyday, and never saw GM High Tech Performance magazine, or a few others.
I was only able to get 2 Hot Rod magazines.
This year was the least amount of stuff I brought home.
I did meet the editor of Pontiac Enthusiast, and chatted with him for awhile.
We talked about my collection of Pontiac stuff.
He wants to see some photos of what I have, and either just have a few photos in one of the issues, or have me write up an article or two.
So, now I have to get some stuff together for that!
Hey Dan, he is like me!
He lost his voice talking with everyone!
I did run into some friends that I know out in Los Angeles, who own Trans Ams, so that was fun.
The weird thing is, alot of people saw me out there, and I didn't see them, but they said I was either walking away from them, or talking with someone.
One said they saw me taking photos with girls.
Me?
Ha!
If anyone wants to see, I can post some up.
Hot Wheels was not there, nor did I see Greenlight.
I did stop and talk with GMP (a diecast company), as they have some cool stuff, but they acted as if questions were beneath them.
As far as cars go, there were some that everyone has seen before, and some really strange ones.
In fact, I am not a British car fan, but I found a luxury car that I want! Class and power!
If only they made these car this way!
Here it is:
The detail was just fantastic!
Everything was done in the matching leather! I mean everything.
Roll bar, battery boxes, fuel cell, everything! Even the NOS bottles!
It even had a nice rake to it!
I will be posting up more photos for you all to see!
I hope you all enjoy!
I only have one word for you.
Go!
You will love it!
Find someone who can get you in, you will not regret it!
