Hi all!
I was gone for a few days.
From the internet that is.
I was home, well, in the city I live in.
See, a friend of mine moved out here from Hawaii a few years after me.
I met him on thirdgen.org when I was moving out here (I moved here 5 years ago from SoCal, him, 3 years ago from Hawaii).
After almost 2 years here, his wife didn't like it here, so they went back to Hawaii, to see if it would be final.
They kept the house here, fully moved in still.
Well, they have decided to move back full time I guess, so the wife came back here, to sell the house.
So, my friend called me from Hawaii, to see if it would be possible to store his car at my place for awhile (he said two months, but I think maybe a year ).
He even offered to pay me with free stuff.
Free stuff?
Sure!
So, since he found out that I was going on a trip myself (to Florida for a few weeks, to visit my brother), he needed things moved this last weekend.
So much for Lisa's Birthday.
I had to kidnap her to help me.
It took all day, as I even helped the wife move things around, and check her car's battery, oil, and water.
She and me had to look for the car's paperwork as well.
Anyway, here is his car I brought home to babysit.
It was fun to drive over here, and once I got home, all the neighbors came running out, to see what I bought (they get mad, but say it doesn't bother them).
I told them I am only watching the car, but they don't believe me.
After all, I have 12 cars/trucks, they do think I would buy another (I would, but not a Camaro).
Anyway, this was the easy part.
I had to go back, and get my payment for watching his car.
That alone took a few hours too, just to get it ready to load on the truck.
What was my payment?
This.
He paid over $450 for it, and didn't even use it.
He had to pay to rewire it to his garage, so it cost him more in the end.
I have the wiring, just not where I want to put it, so I have to add it too.
But I have done things like this, so no biggie.
Just I have to wait for when I get back home.
I am also holding a few really big boxes of his RC airplanes too.
These are over 6 foot wingspan!
I also cleaned up where all this was, and she even gave me a bunch of 2x4s that she didn't want.
Sunday, I had to unload the truck, and move things around in the back yard.
Anyway, that was our weekend.
