There is an exception to the car that shouldn't exist. I have never seen one before. I and most others have always believed that the LG4 with an automatic does not exist. It is not on the order form, well at least the US order form. Well I found my first one today on e-bay. It is a Canadian car. I have seen the Canadian GM Report and I would have to say it is legitimate. It has the non CCC LG4, 2.93 rear gears, 3-speed automatic, engine block heater and of course the Y82 DT500 package. The cowl tag is correct. Item number: 220382561125 Most of the major Trans Am / Firebird books written over the years have shown that California received only the LG4 and Automatic which I know is untrue since I own three California sold DT500's. One CFI and Automatic and two LG4 and 5-speeds. Order Form from TA76's site.

Cars sold to Canada don't surprise me. I looked at a 1981 Ragtop Special Edition Trans Am from Canada, and it was a 305 automatic car, not a 4 speed like sold in the US. Good find. Also, cars sold to Canada don't usually show up in US Production figures either. I don't know if Canadian GM would have a build number for you, on early cars. I know they do for GTAs. George
