For those of you who are not from here, I just thought I'd give you some information on the area. To drive from either Kingman, Lake Havasu, or the Bullhead/Laughlin (the Colorado River separates these two cities) area, going up the 93 Freeway, takes you over the big Hoover Dam. Since 9/11, the government decided to move the road away from the Dam, freeing up traffic (since they stop everyone, check them, before allowing you to go over the Dam. Besides not allowing trucks and trailers to go over the Dam.), which the new road will be two lanes each way. Thus, both the road (once in the mountains, the 93 goes to just one lane, and speed drops to as low as 15 mph for about 20 miles) and the new bridge, will be two lanes each way. Now, something you probably don't know is, this will be the biggest free standing bridge ever built. It has been on History Channel, as a wonder build. So, Lisa and I decided to show you how far along they are right now. This build has been going on for a long time now, and I feel bad that we didn't take pictures as the years go by. I guess we were just not thinking. Anyway, here are a couple of photos of the build so far. Construction has been slow, as one of the big cranes fell over in over 100 miles per hour wind, and blocked the road, thus closing this way, for about a week and a half awhile ago. Can't wait for the finish, as it should cut drive time by about a half hour or so. ;D Enjoy, George
