I purchased this Esprit back around 92 from a lady for $190.00. Yup thats what she wanted! Obviously it wasn't in the condition it is now but with only 42,000 miles on it I figured I wouldn't be spending all my time fixing window regulators, door hinges and other items that wear out. The original plan was to paint it, throw a set of Crager SS wheels on it, and drive it every day. A buddy with a collection of TA body parts made me an offer I couldn't refuse so I put all the TA parts on while painting it. It never really became a daily driver even though I drove it to work on nice days. Over the years it's had a couple interior makeovers, lots of suspension upgrades, a few different sets of wheels, another engine, lots of safety equipment etc. Now it mostly gets used as a track car for road course events, goes Land Speed Racing and occasionally goes drag racing. It's still registered and insured but usually gets less than 500 miles a year on the streets now. Previously I've taken it on vacation trips as long as 4,000 miles. Plans for the future include Open Road Racing as well as it's other track duties and I've been upgrading everything to attempt to hit 200 MPH at Land Speed Races. Here's some pics! If you click on the last one it is a short video clip from Road Atlanta.

Very nice! Nothing beats the '70 Firebird/Trans Am look. I always thought it was a '73, because of the color. You got it for a good price. Wish I could find one for that price. But I do get good deals on parts. Show us some interior pictures. Seats and roll bar are what I'd like to see. Thanks for sharing, George

Wow! What a setup! ;D It looks super nice. I'll go to that link and check it all out. I know what you mean about wide angle lens, I need to get one for some nice interior shots of my cars. George

I think WOW would be a understatement! That is just pure wickedness right there! Your car just makes me speechless!

I guess that should have said mind instead of mand...not sure what a mand is
Where did you get the side pipes for her. I'm back and forth with going side pipes or dual tips straight out the back of a rear roll pan idea.
I like how yours looks compaired to most I've seen

I'm back and forth with going side pipes or dual tips straight out the back of a rear roll pan idea. I like how yours looks compaired to most I've seen I bought a 74 Camaro back in the late 80's along with "everything in the garage" from a bud moving far away who couldn't take the car or stuff. When I was going through the boxes I found the sidepipes in boxes but the front and back sections weren't from the same set. I kept them and when I got the Firebird decided to use them on there by having a piece machined to allow using the non matching front/rear sections. The front are fake headders with only one pipe allowing exhaust flow. I recently got a set of "real" NOS Hooker sidepipes with the full super comp side exit headders. I haven't installed them yet till I figure out what color they'll be or if I can have them chromed. Here's what they look like now allgentransams.com/forum/index.php?topic=1299.0If everything works out I'll sell the ones I have on the car now but that won't be for quite a while when I figure out a coating and get them installed. I need to make all new mounting brackets because they are mounted differently than my current set up.

Well up until 2 days ago I had kicked around the idea of using side pipes but the wife axed that idea...she hates the look of them. She wants me to use the TA splitters instead...
She's the Boss

lol...That's one of the reasons for it besides the look. She also said that the kids would likely burn their legs as well. Can't argue with that now can I
