Earlier this month, what is perhaps a secret GM prototype was
tested in public.
Calls and emails to GM have not been returned as of our news deadline.
Rumors have abounded as to this secret new GM option or model.
Apparently, the automaker has been developing a flying car.
Shown here are some security camera shots of the secret test
run. The test was conducted at the Dallas-Ft.Worth airport in
the early morning hours.
As the test pilot approached the north end toll booths, the prototype
was accelerated to at least 75 mph for the test.
Now, we here at news central aren't sure as how this option is
supposed to function, so we can only surmise that's it's to allow
the driver to conveniently leap over toll booths. Something I'm sure
the motoring consumer has anticipated for a long time.
Unfortunately the test seems to have failed as the re-entry/landing
aspect of option still needs to be smoothed out.
Witnesses do report that the initial phase of flying over the toll
booth seem to work fairly well.
Airport police, who were not given advance knowledge of the test,
were quite surprised and as they arrived on the scene and found the
test pilot attempting to re-enter the vehicle. Unfortunately, due
to some miscalculation or design error the prototype caught fire.
We are not sure, be apparently she was trying to save the test data,
her CD's, hair brush and cell phone. Now, that's dedication...
Officers had a chance to interview the test pilot right after the test,
and got limited information before releasing her for medical care.
From the police report, we found out that in preparing for the
test run, the test pilot used a special blend of Vodka and Cranberry
juice - but just one. What's uncertain is how this blend allows
the car to fly, but the test pilot's statement lends support to this
as being an essential and necessary component of this truly remarkable
system.
So, next time you are in the show room, you may want to get info on
this soon to be very exciting option or model.
