Some of you know me, I'm one of the 301 nuts. Anyways. we've seen and had a little fun with "what's this part" on my 301 forum, and thought some of these might be fun here too. I "think" this is common to most all Pontiac V-8's, but was in a 301... It's actually two pieces that are always together as a team. and it is a bit mishapen, where, what and why? <grin> Joe

Short is ok, and it was for fun!
As a very young man, working at a gas station, "friends" that worked there at times sold speedometer fluid. As I recall it was $1.15/per quart I think they used.
The station was on a major Interstate and folks of all types came and went.
Those were the days, and yes >they< also sold muffler bearings... <grin>
My only deviation from being a perfect boyscout type was to NOT charge hot women in sporty cars for their gas.
SHA-Wing!!!
<grin>

My favorite was "blinker fluid" ..........we actually had a girl in HS so convinced that her blinker fluid was low that she went home and asked her Dad to check it for her. She came back the next day and said all her Dad did was look at her strangely and walked away saying "Yes girl, your blinker fluid is low!!".......LMAO, still cracks me up to this day.

Joe, Alot of these younger kids (not us old farts ) have probably never taken apart a Pontiac engine, yet alone, a carbed V-8 engine. But that's OK, I haven't taken apart a fuel injection engine yet either. I haven't done complete rebuilds myself, but I have done lots of work on Pontiac engines, like changing timing chains (which is why I knew that one). George
