Man, I sure wish we could have had something like this back when we bought our cars (Trans Ams) new. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38211262/?gt1=43001I also just saw a TV ad for the new Challenger, buy one new, and get $2,000.00 of Mopar engine upgrades. The report above said that only 13,934 Vettes solf last year. Wonder when they will stop production with those low numbers, like the Trans Am/Firebirds were. George

That's a pretty sweet idea GM has there, and I agree that would've been cool had they had something like that back in the day. We toured the Corvette factory twice in the mid-nineties, may wife got to start the car (while it was on the assembly line) both times we toured. That was kinda cool too.

That is a great idea for making an automobile your personalized car.
The $5800 option charge on a $60,000 Corvette is 10% over the car price.
That means back in the day Pontiac could have let us but a Trans Am for $3950 and for $400 more we would have been able to build our own engine.
