Back in the late 70's to early 80's, alot of owners modded their Birds. Even me. While I was slowly modding my 1981 Special Edition Turbo Trans Am, I saw this one running around out in Las Vegas. This was around 1981-1984. Now, this is not everyone's cup of tea, but it looks nice to me, and not like everyone else's car. I do like the hood, and had a special hood made up for me, as the maker only had the scoop section for sale, not the complete hood. My whaletail is different, and just as big. Just showing what other's cars look like, back in the day. Also, just so you all know, the headlights are off a Caddy SeVille of the time. Alot of custom mods, done up by a Corvette Shop in Las Vegas. I have the name, if anyone wants it. George

Whoa! That is wild. Back then I probably would have hated it. Now I'd consider it a Vintage Modded car that should remain that way.

Well, Back then I did like it. Remember now, back then, a ton of people modded their cars. I still like it today. I'll have to scan some photos of a Camaro that they were building when I was out there, and post them. I know, a Camaro, but I did kind of like the mods on it. More wild than the one I posted above. Here is another one, done by the same shop, but an earlier Firebird, not sure if it was a real Trans Am. I got the photo from the shop. I sure would have liked to see the car in person. In the background, is the shop owner's house. He owns the Corvette Shop that built the cars, thus the vette in the driveway. Barney's Corvettes, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Enjoy, George

Don, I kick myself in the ass at times. When I was in the middle of my move out here, a car like the first one pictured, without an engine and trans, popped up for sale on ebay, right in Hollywood, California of all places. Less than 35 miles from where I use to live. It sold for $2,000! If I didn't have my money tied up in my move, I would have bought it in a heartbeat! I hate when timing is off. George
