In my research that I have done for the 1980 Indy 500 Pace Car, I have also found interesting facts that GM did in other vehicles they produced. How many knew that Hobnail was used in a 1979 Corvette? It is true. How many knew that Hobnail was used in the 1980 Chevy Trucks and Suburban's? My sister and I went to Hays Kansas a couple years ago so she could buy an old Jukebox from a dealer that refurbished them. His business was in an old Chevrolet Dealer building. I asked him if he had anything still around that pertained to the old Chevrolet Dealership and he said, oh just a few things, but nothing of any value he thought. He showed me what he had there and he had a 1980 Showroom Dealer Display with all the cars and interior samples, and I thought I was in heaven, what a great find! There were a couple flaps missing, but all that I wanted seem to be there. I offered him $25.00 and he took the offer so I loaded it up. After I got it home, I started looking through the display and found the following "Hobnail" samples, and it really blew me away. Below is a picture of the first flap that show the samples for the 1980 Surburban. The "Mystic" Hobnail matches the 1980 Pace Car "Oyster" hobnail exactly. Next picture below is for the 1980 Chevrolet Truck Series. I just thought I would bring this out there in case you did not know it. Kev

I knew the Vette used it, but I didn't know the trucks did. I have Product Books for other cars lines besides Pontiac, but nothing for Chevy from 1978-1981. That is cool to know. Thanks, George
